Enforcement and Appeals

Enforcement and Appeals

Staff action exists to protect scene quality, not to surprise players with hidden standards.

How staff action, discretion, and appeals are handled. Reviewed February 2026

Staff discretion exists for edge cases

No ruleset can predict every scene. Staff may step in when behavior clearly damages the city even if the exact wording is not spelled out line by line.

Penalties scale with impact

Context matters. Repeated issues, bad-faith behavior, or conduct that damages multiple scenes will be treated more seriously than honest mistakes handled well.

Appeals should be clear and concise

If you want a decision reviewed, explain what happened, what standard you believe was misapplied, and what you think should be reconsidered. Do not turn an appeal into a second scene.

Public arguments rarely help

If you disagree with staff action, use the proper appeal route in Discord. Escalating the dispute in public channels usually weakens your position instead of improving it.

Learn from outcomes

The strongest players treat enforcement as a chance to tighten their standards, not as proof that rules only matter when staff are watching.
